I reading it now. I’m having to stop every little bit, though. The emotion is so raw, I have to stop and center myself in order to continue reading. Andy Parker takes you inside his head, and it is almost as though you are experiencing that devastating time just as he did.This is indeed a club nobody wants to join, but due to Andy’s gifted storytelling it’s quite easy to put yourself in his shoes and experience this horror right along with him.It’s a wonderful book!I agree with Lawrence O’ Donnell, it’s just as though you are sitting at Andy’s kitchen table just listening to him tell you the story.We don’t have to live this way, and after reading this book, you will be motivated to do something about it!

No parent should ever have to bury their child. Andy Parker faced the unthinkable when his daughter Alison, just 24 years old, was murdered on live TV.The book is part memoir and part call to action. Through Andy's eyes and heart, we grow to know his daughter, her life and her dreams. And it's clear Andy wants to be sure that Alison's murder is not in vain. From page one this book pulls you in. The story of how a fathers love for his daughter turned him into an advocate for ending gun violence. You can feel Andy's rage, his anger and most importantly his love. Extremely moving and powerful. I highly recommend "For Alison". My heart truly aches for Andy and his family with every page. I'm also quite sure he'll be part of the solution that is robbing so many people of their lives to senseless gun violence.
